There is no denying that the past few months have been unusual and uncertain, but the Smylies team have been overwhelmed by the sheer strength of community spirit that we have seen emerge during these turbulent times.
Whilst usual Smylies business has been largely unaffected, our team has also been super busy in trying to offer support for local causes and charities by raising vital funds in these challenging times.
From Easter egg donations for the NHS to food and drink supplies for the most vulnerable, here is a little glimpse at what we’ve been up to and what is still to come.
This is one of our company chosen charities, which means that we will be fundraising throughout the year to help support this incredible centre so they can continue with the crucial work they do in the global battle against cancer.
We have made a £1,000 cash donation on behalf of the whole Smylies team as their staff continue to work and support patients through these unprecedented circumstances.
In partnership with the Wirral Chamber of Commerce, we have been delighted to be able to donate around £8,000 worth of food and drink supplies to Neo Community Wirral. These supplies are to be put into care packages, that are then to be delivered to some of the regions most vulnerable people, via the great team at Neo Community Wirral.
“We knew that asking our business community for donations during these sever economic times was always going to be a difficult challenge, in spite of this what we have seen is businesses of all sizes unite to support our most vulnerable residents.
Now more than ever, we all need to support one another. Our businesses fully understand that they too have a role to play in the fight against Coronavirus and I’m proud of our business community for continuing to not only deliver essential services, but to also donate the food that some of our most vulnerable needs to survive.”

On top of this we were also pleased to be able to send some Easter eggs directly to our local NHS Trust, to give all the hardworking and brave NHS staff a much needed chocolate pick me up.
Throughout the month of May, a Smylies team of ten have been taking on a virtual journey of 1,700km. Our team will be cycling, running and walking the distance from Lands’ End to John O’ Groats to raise money for our chosen charities, Dementia Together and the Northern Lights Children Charity.
