We’re proud to announce that we have been awarded a UK Business Hero award by the Wirral Chamber of Commerce!
The UK Business Hero award is one of the highest honours we have attained, presented to us by the British Chamber of Commerce. It has been our vision to create a better everyday life for the Smylies team as well as helping local communities in times of strife. This is why we are incredibly proud of our most recent accolade and even more so to receive recognition from The Countess of Wessex herself for all of our hard work with charities across the UK.
Here at Smylies, we work closely with local communities and charities to offer assistance where we can. It was the same for us during the pandemic; we worked even harder to make sure that we could assist our local communities and supported charities during this unprecedented and difficult time.
Working closely with our local community, we were able to donate around £8000 of food and drink parcels that were sent to some of the regions most affected and vulnerable people with the help of the great team at Neo Community Wirral.
We also helped out the NHS where we could, sending Easter eggs to our local NHS trust as a well-needed chocolate pick-me-up for all of the brave and hardworking NHS staff.
On top of all this, we work closely with local charity The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, fundraising throughout the year to help fight the battle against cancer and raise awareness. Some of our other charities include Dementia Together and Northern Lights Children’s Charity, raising a grand total of £7000 by taking part in the Lands End to John O’Groats duathlon, where our team ran, cycled and walked 1700km.
Going forward, we will continue to work with local communities and charities and endeavour to maintain our ethos of helping those less fortunate than most. We love doing work with our community, and this shows. Take a look at our visions and values and see how we work together with communities to help improve our environment for all.
