Last week, Smylies visited the new Clatterbridge Cancer Charity hospital in Liverpool in preparation for its opening in summer 2020.
Amongst the first few people to see this incredible, world class facility, the new building will transform cancer care for patients across Merseyside and Cheshire.
The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for patients and research at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
Offering pioneering chemotherapy, radiotherapy and proton therapy treatments, the charity has ten operating sites across Merseyside and Cheshire.
Over the past year, The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity have been working tirelessly to build Liverpool’s first cancer hospital, backed by their £15m fundraising appeal.
During last week’s event, we were shown around the new hospital and given an update as to how the project is progressing.
A drinks reception was held on the highest patient floor in the hospital, the chemotherapy floor, where we witnessed sensational views across the city to the Welsh hills.
Not only will the new building provide patient care and research, but it will also ensure significant investment in their Wirral site.
