Exciting news to share at Smylies, as our Managing Director Chris and Sales Director Alex, completed the Tour De Mon 2021 on the idyllic Welsh island of Anglesey last weekend. The pair took part in the cycling sportive to raise money as part of the Smylies charity initiatives for the latter months of 2021.
This year, Smylies have nominated 2 charities, Koala NW and Will’s Wish.
Will’s Wish is a newly established Wirral based charity, which was co founded by George Falck, a valued member of the Smylies family. Will’s Wish offers young adult cancer sufferers in the county of Merseyside the opportunity to escape their daily life of cancer treatments through experiences of their choice.
Koala NW provide children and their families in the North West of the UK, with practical and emotional tailored support that improves well-being, reduces isolation and supports children and care-givers to thrive.
The Tour De Mon typically attracts over 1000 cyclists each year, becoming a calendar highlight for both the locals of the island and cyclists from far and wide. There are multiple routes available to choose from including: Teulu route(3.5miles), Bach route (46miles), Canol route (77miles), Mawr route (106miles). Featuring stunning scenery and on course support, the Tour De Mon is suitable for keen cyclists and families.
Chris Smylie commented: “It was a long cycle ride, but well worth it as the scenery was absolutely breath-taking and we managed to contribute to the Smylies charity initiative. I’m really proud of the overall efforts from the entire Smylies family to raise money for our nominated charities and I look forward to the other fundraising events across the rest of 2021.”
We love to give back to our local communities and we would love it if you gave us a helping hand too! To get involved and donate to either of the charity’s mentioned in this article, please visit our external donation page here.
